Easy and flexible for a group. You can start with dry beans or cook in the crock pot.
- 3 cans beans (pinto, navy, kidney or anasazi)
- 3 T apple cider vinegar
- 3 C choice of protein (ground beef, turkey, venison, cooked ham or Tofu)
- 3 T molasses
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 T tomato paste
- 1 1/2 T olive oil
- 2 T Dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp red chili powder
- 1 bottle Uncle Scott’s All Natural Root Beer
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp black pepper
Brown onions and garlic with olive oil in sautee pan. Add and brown beef, ground turkey or venison and drain. (if using cooked ham or Tofu set aside.) Drain beans place in casserole dish. Add garlic, root beer, apple cider, molasses, tomato paste, mustard, chili, salt and black pepper. Mix. Add protein (beef, turkey, venison, cooked chopped ham or chopped Tofu. Stir. Place in oven, bake uncovered 30 mins. 325 degrees.
