Alicia Mansury, the Health and Beauty Manager at Food Matters Market & Cafe at the Brevard store will be our featured speaker for this Friday’s Health Talk. Please join us upstairs in the Community room for Alicia’s talk about environmental issues facing us during the summer months.
“Each summer we face the usual challenges of sun exposure, bug bites, and the body’s reaction to certain allergies, even poisonous plants,” said Mansury. “There are some tried and true natural remedies and some new products we’ll discuss that can help keep you and your family safe.” Mansury will also touch on the Zika virus and how it is transmitted and steps you can do to lower your risk.
Zika fever (also known as Zika virus disease) is an illness caused by the Zika virus. Most cases have no symptoms, but when present they are usually mild and can resemble dengue fever. Symptoms may include fever, red eyes, joint pain, headache, and a maculopapular rash. Symptoms generally last less than seven days. It has not caused any reported deaths during the initial infection. Infection during pregnancy causes microcephaly and other brain malformations in some babies. Infections in adults has been linked to Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS). – Article source Wikipedia.
